Moore was the major sponsor of bill to not have any school personal to work on Veteran’s Day so that High School Bands can participate in local parades honoring Veterans!

Personally took up himself to lead to the naming of three athletic fields in Winterville. These three honorees gave their adult life so others could participate in athletics. Levi Smith coached over 40 years and still coaching. Joey Baggett has served as a coach with Pitt County Schools for over thirty five years and still coaching. Carl Wesley McLawhorn was the Chair of the Winterville Recreation for ten years and lead the volunteer group to purchase land and develop the first Winterville Park. Upon completion the group donated the park to the Town of Winterville. The present Winterville Park. Tony Moore was one of the signers of the twelve individuals who signed the Bank Loan to purchase the land.

As a Town Council member Moore voted to enter into a new electric contract to decrease the Town’s electric cost beginning January 1st 2018 by at least 20 percent. Winterville is a voting member of group of Towns who are building a natural gas power plant in Kings Mountain. This will help lower out costs for our citizens for years to come!
